Aldoby Alteration & Dry Cleaning @ 1 Utama (Old Wing)

I’d like to share my experience of sending my clothing items to Aldoby @ 1 Utama for dry cleaning.

Prices as follows:
– 2 office tops (RM 23 x 2)
– 1 Long office skirt – thick material (RM29)
– 1 Winter jacket – hip length (RM62)

Total: RM137

You can be the judge of the price, as the lady mentioned the clothing wouldn’t be dry cleaned in the shop and would be taken elsewhere to be cleaned.

I need to highlight the attitude of Ms. Wong who served me:

❌ As I am a newbie to dry cleaning, I am not well-versed in the prices and the terms they would use to inquire about the clothing. For example, my black skirt contained an inner lining with several layers on the surface. Ms. Wong asked me if my skirt contained “a second lining,” which confused me. So, I politely asked her to clarify, flipping my skirt inside out to show her more details. She looked at it and responded to me in an annoyed voice, saying, “This is the lining lor, your skirt has two layers.” Her overall demeanor was also rude. She also continued to speak mainly in Cantonese while I was speaking Mandarin+English. (Not a significant issue, but from a CUSTOMER SERVICE point of view, it shows that she is not willing to accommodate her customers and make them feel comfortable, only speaking in the language she prefers.)

That was okay, still tolerable (somewhat).

❌ After taking in my clothes, she proceeded to bill me. During the process, my winter jacket fell off the chair behind their counter. She did not bother to pick it up and proceeded to walk around the shop (almost stepping on my jacket) to get my bill ready. This is a small gesture, but it shows how little respect she has for my clothing items. I understand I handed in my clothing to be cleaned, and they are currently in a dirty condition, but that doesn’t mean one can leave the customer’s clothes lying on the floor.

Duration of completion: 6 days (It’s okay as I am not in a rush).

✅ Once my laundry was done, I received a WhatsApp message with a picture of each of my clothing items hung inside a plastic wrap. PS: You need to present the OC (Original Copy) of the receipt; otherwise, you can’t collect your clothing.

Overall, 3 stars, as my clothing came back in satisfactory condition, but I think the service really needs to be improved. There are tons of dry cleaning services in PJ alone, and this makes me not want to come back to Aldoby due to the unpleasant service experience. First and last time.

Very rude service and high prices. I only went in to enquire about 2 pants that I needed to get altered in a short time. But because she couldnt do all my alterations in time I wanted to consult a different place first in case they could do it. And she then immediately told me to get out of the store and only come when I actually wanted to do something :// And then I asked again for the price and she wanted to charge me RM50 just for shortening pants when the other store in 1U charges only RM25. That’s double the price for such a rude service. No idea if they do good work but for such a bad service I don’t even want to know.

Expensive alternation and bad attitude. Enquired how much it cost to alter a pair of pants (normal trousers, not jeans, not wide leg, machine sew)… when quoted RM35, I asked how come it costs so much. Without an answer or reason, the lady just walked away… truly shocked at the customer service.
