My visit to Spotlight at IPC Shopping Centre was a mixed experience. The store is massive and packed with a wide variety of items, from craft supplies to home goods, which was impressive but also overwhelming. It felt a bit chaotic, and navigating the aisles wasn’t the easiest. The service was alright—nothing special, but they were polite and helpful when needed. Overall, it’s a decent place for niche finds, but the overwhelming layout brought it down for me. Three stars.
Update: Heard they are closing down and having 50% sale of everything. Sad to hear them go, but I hope they are available on Shopee / Lazada. IPC shopping mall needs an overhaul of tenants to bring in more foot traffic.
This is the best place to get all the costumes, props and decorations for any company annual dinner costumes or costume party gatherings. Wigs, party hats, glitters, balloons, flowers, ribbons, masks are all here!
A perfect place for tailors and anyone who loves handcrafting. The materials here are quite comprehensive, you can find anything you need, and even things you didn’t expect to find! Highly recommended! Be sure to register for their VIP membership to enjoy more discounts
Update April 2025: Spotlight is finally closing down their only 2 outlets in Malaysia, and saying good bye. Everything is 40% to 50% discount, but its still not cheap. Thanks for the years of providing Malaysians with a better understanding of arts and craft. Sayonara.
Honestly, Spotlight is now slowly going down the drain. When they first opened many years aso, staff was professional and stock was always up to date. On a recent visit in Feb 2020, I noticed stock is getting less.
Not only that, staff were seen grouping together and chatting away while customers are around. Seemed like there was no work to be done. Probably the outlet manager needs to look into this.
As for the stock, after the invasion of online shopping, I believe spotlight has taken some serious suffering. Simply because the items sold there are note cheap, and you can get the same items online for 10 times less.
I guess Spotlight needs to improve their strategy to win customers back otherwise, it will face a quick retail death.
First impression being lots of items selling here! Personally, I am very into crochet and I found here useful with a lot of different types of yarn and yarn tools. Couldn’t be more excited seeing these! I found it slightly pricy but the quality is good.
They are selling many other things like bed, curtains, blinds, arts & crafts, sewing & fabrics and many more.
